Those units without fancy stuff  (like map and uploading features) have
small screen. Garmin 76 series have larger screens, but they are not basic.
I doubt there is any pocket-sized GPS that can always be used without
reading glasses by those who normally need such glasses.  You might still
need glasses for some features.  There is some dashboard-sized GPS with very
large screen, though.

None of them is really waterproof.  Water will eventually find its way
through, if you won't keep it in dry-bag.  Reportedly, 76 series units are
more waterproof than previous ones.  After paying USD 200 or more, I
wouldn't like to be the first one to find when and under what conditions it
will stop being waterproof. Copying isn't the issue so far, - there are only
2 brands on the market: Garmin and Magellan, if I'm not mistaken.
