Hi All, This idle and inconsequential thought came to my mind as I enjoyed myself sailing my Klepper this weekend. My GPS was telling me I had six knots consistently downwind. 'Sailing' is a bit of a misnomer as I had a 15sq ft parafoil aloft in a bit of a breeze. I believe I have actually parasailed faster on occasions, [ when I didn't have a GPS ], probably around eight knots, which is not bad for the old dear. After that, it gets a bit hairy, especially in a bit of a sea. In fact, the old darling tends to try to buck me out by burying her head into the back of the upcoming wave... Anyway... has anyone recorded their top speed in ideal conditions? Paddling, or sailing? I would be interested to hear. Cheers, Peter Rattenbury, Wollongong, Australia. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
