G'Day Peter,

Dennis Maina and I met one of the original builders of the Pittarak on
Saturday. He had a ketch sail rig plus spinnaker with lead weight keel on
his non Pittarak kayak. One of his speed controls was to angle the
cylindrical lead weight on the bottom of the keel so that it directed water
flow to or away from the hull. He also had a lot of fancy little sails to
direct wind over the mainsails.

His top speed to date was 13 knots and he's aiming for 20. We asked him what
to do if the boat tipped over - his answer was you mustn't!!!

As for me. I'm still working on being booked for speeding in the 4 knot zone
at Skiffies - been trying for years but haven't been cited yet.

How do you think you would go with the full sail rig on the Klepper?

All the best, PeterO
