Send a CC to yourself, in CC box or in the main address line after semi-colon, when you initiate a thread and there is no another address to reply, but Paddlewise. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). When I am having trouble like this I reply all, delete the individual address(s) and, if this is not on the same thread I just change the subject line. If you are not deleting enough of the original message it may well die. Kirk has it set the system to do things to messages that contain the old headers and footers, which don't include posting. He gets tired of doing things manually and so the computer itself throws them into limbo or a black hole. Joan > My posts to the list don't seem to appear, for no reason that I can discover. A post you made over the weekend was a testing post and those get sent to the admin. There's no need for everyone on the list to see test posts. Posting works. If you have problems getting posts through email me directly - owner_at_paddlewise.net There are filters on the list for those who forget to edit. Leaving old headers and footers is a guaranteed way to get a post to bounce to me. How long it takes me to get around to editing a post for you will depend on several factors including how often a particular poster neglects to edit posts. If I get tired of editing posts for someone I'll return the unedited post to the person. It's been a while since I intentionally dropped a post on the floor, because of habitual non-editing, at least 6 months. The mailing list software is NOT setup to automatically drop entire posts, I have to decide to drop posts. I think I've dropped about 4 posts since I took over paddlewise. Some of those were "me too" posts on threads that I had started filtering because the topic had gotten out of control. If you have paddlewise_at_paddlewise.net in the To: line or the Cc: line of your message it should get to either me or the entire list. I can't think of any technical reason for needing to do a reply all or copying yourself to get the message to the list. That sounds more like a problem with a particular users email package or with their Internet provider. If anyone wants to debate this, email me directly. I know way too much about email....
