In the US there are 2 knotmeters available. The one from Speedtech
(http://www.speedtech.com/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=35) is reportedly
being discontinued (according to retailsers of the speedmate on the surf
ski mailing list).

I've lost a few impellers and replacements are getting hard to find...
If you have multiple boats, and don't mind a little annoyance the
trailing wire model might be good - plus there's nothing to lose so you
don't have to worry about lost impellers.

If I were buying a new one I would look at the Nielson Kellerman model.

I've been told that the speedtech knotmeter was an OEM version built by
Nielson Kellerman, I don't know the truth to that. I plan to be buying
an NK impeller the next time I lose the impeller for my speedmate,
hopefully
the rumors are true and I have a continueing source of replacement
parts.
