Mitch, I also have had a couple of bouts with vertigo, both on and off the water. The ENT had no idea what caused the spells. Once I was on the water, paddling hard pass a barge and it hit me hard. No balance, world was swirling. Made it to shore...lucky I was in a double. It passed slowly within a few hours. Another time I was in the grocery store check-out line. I was down for more than 10 days. I wasn't safe to drive. They still had no idea what was the cause. I feel comfortable on the water, rolling, surfing, but I stay away from twirling rides at the Fair.
