Exactly.  McNett's water-based product and their solvent-based product are 
both useless.  I tried both, and they both fail.  I suspect surface prep of 
the nylon may be an issue, also ... because the DIY-applied coating comes 
away clean from the nylon.   OTOH, it could be that a seam-taped new top 
would work.  Not a difficult sewing project, Evan.  Seattle Fabrics, up your 
way, would have all the goodies.  If you try it, please report back.
