Here is another vote for the GPS 72.  I have gone 20 - 25 hours  
paddling time on two AA 2300 mAh rechargables.    It has a great trip  
computer, big display, (easy on these old eyes), tolerates real soaking  
and is cheap.   The only drawback is its hugh size.  It  is anything  
but compact.  I stick mine to my deck bag with velcro, (glued to the  
back), so it doesn't get in my way, (much).
