Since this is for above water, what about adding a breather to the housing? If you used a flexable hose and made a trap with it then fitted it into a small container that is open on the bottom and packed with aquarium filter floss you would still be protected for the occasional dunk but you would have fixed the condensation and greenhouse problem. I would of course take it for a "wet" run before adding the expensive equipment. You may have to experiment with the hose and breather end until you are sure that it stays dry.
