I'm looking at a Concept2 Rowing Machine to use as a winter workout. I have
used one in the past successfully. As an alternative I've considered the
Kayakpro trainer. Can anyone comment on the merits of either? I Kayak and
canoe both, Northern Wisconsin weather permitting.

Is there a possibility that the Kayakpro may be seen at Canoecopia?

Thanks

The KayakPro SpeedStroke is an awesome trainer. In addition to being a
grat aerobic workout, it gives you feedback on your kayaking technique.
My only complaint is that the little computer readout is tough on old
eyes. But if you can see it, it tells you how fast, how far, and how
long you paddle. Ours is placed just close enough to a chair that I can
also tell if my stroke gets too far fromvertical - because I hit the
chair. I don't intend to move the chair!

I don't know if it will be at Canoecopia, but if you contact Gray
Bourne, the inventor of the SpeedStroke, and president of KayakPro,
he'll be happy to arrange to have you see it and/or try it out. He's an
ex-Olympic racer. Also a really nice guy.

Usual caveats - no connection; just a happy customer.
