After drowning my last waterproof (!) Apelco VHF, insurance bought me an Icom IC-M2A, and I'm very happy with it. Better reception than the last model, very good battery life, and a tray for AA batteries. It is a little bigger than I wanted, but it has a very robust feel to it.
