Kayakers, Just because some corporation is trying to get rich by telling people what the weather is going to be like, it doesn't mean the National Weather Service, which is supported by my taxes, should be able to tell only the corporation, but not me, what is the forecast. Once again, the small guy is getting screwed and corporations are cashing in, which is what this administration has been all about since day one. I wonder how much money republican Senator Santorum got from AccuWeather for this one. Duane Steve Brown <steve_at_brown-web.net> wrote: I'm paying now. The only question is: how much? I don't expect a tax refund because of this, but maybe it will go toward the deficit. As we all know from our personal budgets, it's usually the many small items that add up to big numbers. Anyway, whatever it costs AccuWeather to provide the service, you can bet it cost the Feds several times that. Also, no one has defined what services are going to be lost that relate to kayaking - if any. The bill only proposes not duplicating services which are provided in the private sector. Americans have a bad habit of complaining about their taxes, complaining about the deficit, and complaining about any reduction of government supplied services - sometimes all in the same paragraph. Just a thought. I completely, completely agree that this is a VERY rotten situation but lets not allow broad bashing. We are supposed to be apolitical here. I am going to have my PA based family email the Senator and express their collective displeasure. That is the only way to reign in a lunk head like Santorum.
