Saturday I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and stopped to watch the 
surfers at the south end. Two hours later, a sailboat tried to surf in with 
spectacular results.

If the owner of that boat wants, I can show him a cheaper and easier 
way to unstep a mast.  :-)

I surfed a 25' sailboat across the mouth of the Delaware to Cape May 
once upon a time.  Just steep rollers - no breaking waves.  I was 
having fun until I purled and took a wave full of water over the 
foredeck and down the forward hatch - under which the skipper was 
taking a nap.
