Opps.

It was a reasonable assumption that the duct tape we used during our 
simulated on water patch session came from the naval shipyard.  However I 
was wrong.  The tape in question was purchased at a local hardware 
store.  Unfortunately since the cardboard core was removed, so that the 
tape could be flatted and stuffed into a PFD pocket, we've no way of 
telling what the brand was.

Doug is spot on regarding the Lee Valley article about duct tape.  I would 
go so far as recommending anyone who wants better quality duct tape go on 
line and order some from LV.  I have no association with the company, other 
then the fact I spend far too much of my disposable income there.

I'm considering a test of the US governments recommendation for duct 
tape.  I propose half the people on Paddlewise eat beans for a week, then 
tape themselves into a room.  Have your surviving family members report the 
results.  The other half of the Paddlewise community should benifit.
