I finally got a chance to read the Lake Effect article. My questions are:
Did they have bilge pumps? Did they try to pump out the compartment or was
it underwater after the big wave flooded it further? Why was the cockpit
getting water in it as well? Was it now also under water because the stern
had sunk further or had nearly every wave washing over it? Why didn't they
try putting the float bag in it after doing the first T-rescue since then
there would be no significant water blocking its entry into the compartment
at that time? Was it that they didn't want to risk flooding the compartment
in the attempt? Besides Mike using an untested kayak was Joel also using an
untested (large wing) paddle or had he just not used it for long enough at
once to experience shoulder problems before?
