Thanks for the work you put into these reports. It's not just the fun of 
watching and reading, but we - well I - get to see places where other 
paddlers get to play, which broadens my horizons in a way.

I was at the first Canadian-presented slide show of Nigel Foster's Labrador 
trip tonight here in Victoria. Nigel and Kristen were entertaining - and as 
usual - humble and graceful. There were lots of polar bear stories. And 
historical perspectives of Inuit peoples being displaced and relocated - 
sad. Kind of ties in with the book Chuck mentioned the other day.

I noticed some new books at the kayak store where Nigel was giving his show. 
One of them is written by a friend of mine, Alex Mathews about rough water 
kayaking. It might be worth your while to take a gander at it. It's a little 
more sea kayaked based than say the Tsunami Ranger books which are targeted 
at a narrower audience, I think.

My surgeon said I'd be another 6 weeks before I can kayak again, so will 
keep paddling vicariously for now.
