My sister in-law has a two piece dry suit that requires new neck, wrist and
the waist gaskets. Can you recommend a good person who can do this work. She
does not want to attempt the waist gasket herself, so she'd just as soon send
the two pieces, top and bottoms, off and have it done professionally.

Last year at the West Coast Sea Kayak symposium in Port Townsend I was
introduced to an expert on dry suit fitting and repair. I remember he was
from Seattle but I cannot recall his name. At the time I was musing about
shorting the legs on my suit. Can anyone recommend someone and provide a
contact number or e mail address. If there's someone on Vancouver Island or in
Vancouver that would be more convient.

Thanks
Gordin Warner

Most of the makers of drysuits will replace the gaskets on their
products for a reasonable charge. She may be able to send it directly
to the maker or send it via the retail outfit where she purchased it.

That will be more expensive than a local person (esp. if that person
does not do it for a fee), but that's an option.

Gordin,

The experts recommend sending the worn dry suits to Chillcheater,
in England, who replace the gaskets with those made of Aquatherm,
their own fabric that has much better ageing properties than latex, and
feels nicer, too!

Write to them and ask for a quote!

They also have a rep. in California!
