Please look for the Society for the Use of Immersion Protection booth at upcoming kayak symposiums. SUIP (pronounced "soup" ) seeks to promote useful thought and dialogue on the subject of clothing which can make paddling safer. Since the paddling community is so diverse we have several divisions. Cold SUIP - which specializes in clothing and gear for cold water (hypothermia) Hot SUIP - which specializes in clothing and gear for tropical climates (hyperthermia) Cream SUIP - for the elite (cream of the crop) paddlers or those who want to be elite Ketchup in hot water SUIP - economy solutions for those on a budget Chicken SUIP - for those who believe "it couldn't hurt" to wear extra protection Hot & Sour SUIP - for those who spend long hours in Neoprene Freeze Dried SUIP - for those using drysuits in icy conditions Last Meal SUIP - for those who never let the water temp affect their clothing choices For those of you involved in the Greenland or Native style of paddling you might want to look into our sister organization: STEW - Society for Traditional Eskimo Wear SUIP is currently accepting donations of drysuits, hydroskins/fuzzy rubber, drytops, and fleece for my testing program. Please e-mail me if you would like to donate. Mark J.
