I had a nine year old boy who was a lone surfer amongst a large group of swimmers off Tybee Island give me a mouthful because I was standing in his way as I played with my kids in the surf. Nine years old! I gave him the long cool stare in return. Someone clearly taught this attitude to him. Why does it seem acceptable in the surf culture? Is the testosterone that thick? Is it barracks life revisited? Am I an old fart?
