If you search YouTube, you will find a few videos of surfer dudes slugging it out on the beach. Kinda makes surfing look appealing. I once stopped off at a popular windsurfing spot on the Columbia River to view the action. I just happened to have a kayak on the roofrack. Almost immediately, some young dufus comes over and tells me that I can't launch my kayak there! Finally, my friend Mike and I were camped in the Broken Group some years ago. Had a nice quiet campsite within a safe little bay. Suddenly a whale-watching boat pulls up and disgorges a bunch of tourists who start circling our tent, and observing the primitive campers.
