The whole thread of "will a baidarka bow/stern work on a modern kayak" entirely ignores the fact that the baidarkas these ends were put on were very flexible along their longitudinal axis. This is critical to their functionality. Yes they will broach riduculously when applied to a rigid hull; no they won't when applied to a flexible hull.
