One more word on the subject (okay, maybe a few more words...) I've had physical therapy for both shoulders and a cortisone shot in the left. The right one, which was never as bad as the left, is pretty much 100%. The left still occasionally gives me a twinge, but I know what to do now. The same exercises that were previously outlined. Plus, the therapist used heat on my shoulder prior to exercise, to loosen it up, and then cold after the exercise, to calm everything down. Seemed to work - and I have to say that both the heat and the cold felt good. The cortisone shot was a miracle! It hurt like anything, but within 10 minutes of getting the shot I had full range of motion, whereas before the shot it was significantly compromised.Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that I did the damage with some ill-advised bracing practice. Must protect the shoulder at all times. Just keep saying that....Joan *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
