The Sanyo Eneloop low-self discharge NiMH batteries appear to be the same technology as the Maha Imedion and the GP ReCykos. The Thomas Distributing Web site even mistakenly refers to the Maha Imedion as "eneloop" from time to time. For all I know, they are all made by the same factory. Though the Eneloop batteries do indeed have lower capacities than the older NiMH batteries, their low rate of self-discharge apparently more than makes up for it, depending on how long they sit around before you use them. For an interesting independent test of the new Eneloop batteries, see http://www.stefanv.com/electronics/sanyo_eneloop.html.
