Pretty amazing, within an hour and a half of asking a question I didn't think would ever get answered, I had the book in my grubby little mitts. SouthWind, my local kayak store had a couple in stock. I don't know if I've ever seen the movie, but I might have to try to get it too. It's hard to tell, but I wonder if the recollection of this book is part of the reason for my interest in kayaking in later life. The responses I've gotten from all the people who remember reading it suggests maybe so. This world is just getting too small. My grandson is only 3 months old, so he'll be starting his library off right! Thanks for all your answers. Mark -----Original Message----- Hi Mark- Your book is Paddle to the Sea by Hollingsworth (sp?), a Caldecott award winner. A CKF member-friend sent me a copy in about 1987. I loved it. As soon as we started Southwind Kayak Center, it was one of the first books we carried. I hope they still have it, Give them a call. You might find it on-line, but who knows. I still lvoe it. ALl paddlers will enjoy it. Kids 8-12 too, (maybe more).
