Darn if you can't find everything on Google, even if you're not sure what you're looking for!!! At least I think I found it: "Paddle to the Sea", by Holling C. Holling, from 1941, in case my description made you want to read it! This 'internet' thing is amazing! -----Original Message----- Well, it's a long shot, but I thought I'd try. Back in probably the mid '60's, I read a book about a toy canoe or kayak that was carved out of a piece of wood. My shady memory says a father and son wrote their name on it and sent it down a river and the book described its travels and travails. Anyone heard of such a book? It stuck in my memory all these years and I thought if I could find out the name it might make a nice Christmas gift for a grandchild along with a carved kayak! www.SandMarks.net *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
