Just remember that the 1970s fiberglass sportfishers, express cruisers, and trawlers should be around forever. You have lots of time. There's something to be said for coming "home" to a warm cabin, a hot cup of coffee, and a warm bunk you don't have to hold down with rocks. I've been searching out articles on the web about the abandoned outports of Newfoundland with an eye towards trailering the mutha-ship out there and poking around a bit. I'm very interested in the aura of abandoned villages and love to visit and let the "what must life have been like" thoughts wash over me. I've glimpsed them from passing ships in years past but I think that paddling around their harbors - many of them very well protected - would be a real blast. Rocks galore washed by the Atlantic swell. We could make a muthership parade from here to there next summer if you act now. :P Craig Jungers very slowly warming up in...
