"Dive" connotes flooded forward storage area at least, possibly rear storage area flooded as well. Images of "Das Boot" come to mind. Dirty white turtle-neck sweaters, sweat and oil scented air, claustrophobic quarters, klaxon horns blaring.... Not my idea of good time at all. Maybe I could suggest "rolling" into the kayaking lifestyle?
