copied from the QCC site:

Farewell Phil-
On March 16 we lost an irreplaceable friend and co-worker when Phil
Siggelkow passed away unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack. We
are all numb and in a state of disbelief at the thought of never
seeing Phil again. To never see him come in the shop again and call
out across the floor to inquire of everyone's well-being is hard to
imagine. To never hear him in his adjoining office pick up the phone
and with the energy and enthusiasm only Phil could put into answering
a telephone say, "Good morn, uh, afternoon, Quality Composites
Corporation!"

I will miss Phil immensely, in the 12 years we have worked together
he had become far more than an employee, he was a dear close friend.
I know that not a day will go by when I won't think of him and most
often with a smile on my face as I recall all of the times we spent
together talking and laughing in a way that one could only talk and
laugh if you were with Phil Siggelkow. Farewell Phil, I will miss you
and never forget you.

Obituary-

Phillip Maas Siggelkow, 65 died unexpectedly Sunday March 16th, 2008.

He was born September 1, 1942 in Janesville, WI to Harvey Siggelkow &
Hilda (Maas) Siggelkow.

He was the founder and co-owner (with Linda Michiels Siggelkow) of
Blackhawk Outfitters and Canoe, where he left a permanent mark of
innovative canoe design and construction. His most memorable voyage
was the groundbreaking trip, paddling a solo canoe on Alaska's Noatak
River.

A true renaissance man, Phillip spent his entire life reading,
learning and applying new skills. His life-long project was expanding
his knowledge of woodworking and the study of American life,
furniture and collectibles of the late 19th century through the early
20th century. Like people of the era, he spent his time crafting his
home to represent the history of the period.

He is survived by a daughter Sara L Siggelkow, Baraboo, Linda
Michiels, Madison, a sister Linda (Donn) Vance, Cordova, TN, an aunt,
Louise Kidder, Edgerton and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial is being
established in Phillip's name.

Respecting Phillip's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A
remembrance gathering will be held Sunday March 30th from 1:30-3:30
at his daughter's home in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Further information can
be obtained from Cress Funeral Services 608-238-3434.

In the words of Frank Lloyd Wright, his favorite project was "the
next one".
