Our cig pack type Cannon digital camera was in a Cannon underwater housing... and was taken into the ocean today... by someone my 17 year old son was with... and the housing became "about half full of water". They took it out of the water, took the camera out, and opened the batter and memory card compartments, and took out those items and wiped the camera off. When my son got out of the water about an hour later ... the camera was not working. He wiped it off and charged up the battery to make sure that was not the reason for no functions working... Still not working. He called today and asked for suggestions... I suggested that he rinse the camera off with fresh water, and evacuate of the water as possible... perhaps three or four times, and then leave it is a warm but not hot place for a week or so and try to fire it up one last time. I suspect it is done for... but does anyone else have any other suggestions? (I cannot see any value in sending it to Cannon.... in my experience most of the electronics companies cannot fix things for a reasonable fee.... ) thanks...
