Oh great! Freya's going to a rudder now. Maybe a deep draft one. And a heavier hull lay-up. What is the world coming to? Heavy ruddered kayaks. And I just decommissioned mine. I do like her idea of using a fast yak though. She probably want to beat Cafynn's record. Hope her hatches don't leak. And she's into surf skis now too. Guess we can add Kirk to the number of men sharing fantasies about Freya. I just spent a weekend in my very first skegged kayak. Harder to load, still weather cocks, and mostly proved useless as the skeg box clogged up with pebbles. Why did I ever listen to the anti-rudder fanatics? Seems to me either a Mariner-like kayak or a properly ruddered kayak is still the answer for touring. And many of my anti-rudder friends now have rudders. Give my head a shake or what?
