The eastern end of Long Island Sound including the Fishers Island area is my home waters. I think the area has some fun and interesting conditions, but I don't know how unique it is. I have heard that Nigel Dennis considers this area one of the few places with regular 5* conditions. I don't know what constitutes 5* conditions, but this area has quite strong currents over large areas. The area can get quite rough at times, but I think it is the presence of current over large areas that qualify the area. Personally, I think there are other places on the east coast that are at least as good, including the Elizabeth Island/Vineyard Sound area and down east Maine, but then again it is not my place to decide these things.
