That guy is absolutely insane!! Palouse Falls is only about 80 miles from me
and has a State Park. I've been there (and paddled below the falls... but
you have to come up from the confluence of the Palouse River and the Snake
River) and farther upstream (near Colfax) but I never, in my wildest dreams,
considered anyone taking that drop. There has to be a ton of rock at the
base of those falls because it's all basalt (lava) in that are.

Notice that he broke his paddle. I bet he won't repeat it.

It was at full flood, too.

There's been some discussion about how much skill it takes to huck 
yourself over a waterfall like that. If I jumped off the bluff next to 
the lip I could beat his record by 20 feet, and I'm not that great an 
extreme boater.
