Surf, extended camp expeditions, whitewater and my PFD being tossed into the back of vehicles. It is like the holster for a policeman's pistol. Holds tight until needed and then its out with a tug and ready for use. I keep one on my sailing PFD too. Well worth the money. Give them a call. Very nice customer service.
