I'm glad when Duane gets a day off and I get to go surf San O and not feel
guilty for surfin' solo. I'd already planned to be there today before Duane
let it be known he was going, but his video from yesterday had me rarin' to
go. Had a few raindrop on the windshield on the way and hit the the San O
offramp at about 7am with Duane right behind me.

The surf forcast called for a little bit bigger waves than yesterday, but
watching from the beach, it looked pretty flat. We sat and chatted a while
and were encouraged to see some bigger sets come in even though they took
their sweet time. Duane had Ken's old Surfin' Coffin, while I showed up with
the Delfin and the Sapsucker. The waves being what they were, I opted for
the long boat and we hit the water.

On my last visit to San O with the Sapsucker, I had really decided it was
not much of a surf boat. Even though Duane took it out to show me it could
be surfed, for me it was a broaching machine. So I was pleased on my first
wave I got a good ride in the green water before broaching in the white
stuff. There were some nice rides to be had despite the lulls and there was
no swimming despite many combat rolls.

Duane and I aren't shy about sharing a wave, which lead to some interesting
rides. I was trying to get some video, so the closer the better, but when
the Sapsucker starts to get sideways, there's not a lot of control, so
things got interesting. When I got home, I noticed streaks of "Death Boat"
red along side my kayak. Even so, Duane looked a bit worried about getting
too close on a couple rides, so I had to dare him to hit me!

The waves seemed to die down a bit and with a whole lotta combat rolling
under my belt on the day I was ready to hit the sand. I got the ol' umbrella
chair out and Duane and I enjoyed the beach scene and a rather cool breeze.
Just as we were heading off the water, Howard showed up with his Romany, so
we watched him get some nice rides. After a while, he joined us on the beach
to add to the gabfest. Soon the sun decided to get serious and Duane and I
decided to hit the road. It was a great day on the water; I hope the video
reflects that fact!!!

There may or may not be music and or sound, depending on how picky YouTube
is getting these days!
