True enough.  In addition, doubles allow for better mix and matching of 
weak/strong paddlers so that the group will move at about the same pace. 
In our case, it allows me to get Becky home when she has a migraine.  Same 
beans for any other disabled person -- back seat paddler can usually do the 
job, albeit slowly.
