This past weekend had several fun paddle activities going on here in Texas. I participated in the 7th Annual Goliad Fall Paddle Trail; this is held on the San Antonio River at the town and state park of Goliad. This is the same San Antonio River that makes the Riverwalk in the town of the same name such a fun place to be; but this is several miles downstream. Like the famous Alamo in San Antonio, there is a mission here in Goliad too; similar also to the Alamo, it was the location of a battle in the fight for Texas independence. It was a massacre also, so the battle cry at the Alamo was said to be "Remember Goliad". So there you go, history and paddling too. My photos are at: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/575490110qYdIGj?vhost=outdoors Ken Johnson et al were also hosting a sea kayakers' get-together down on the coast this same weekend, I hope he'll be sharing the results of that too. Weather was perfect on Saturday, but rain moved in on Sunday.
