You folks with your tropical locations!
I just have to add my tuppence worth.

I know it is not sea kayaking (I hang out here because of the quality of the 
company--no joke) but Saturday I was out whitewater canoeing.  A smaller group 
had scouted the route a week earlier to find it open--to our great surprise. 
But, here in Eastern Ontario we are seeing spring a month ahead of any year I 
can remember and we may already be past the peak in some rivers.

While most of the kids (some younger than my bush hat) and some of the geezers 
were in play boats, I was one of the holdouts who believe that a playboat can be 
17 feet long and should be able to carry a couple of weeks' supplies.

I don't know why my partner is not as gray as I am -- he had twice as many kids 
and is almost a decade older!
