Frankly, a lot of my night paddling is alone and the rest is when I can talk my wife into it and keeping track of one other paddler isn't that difficult to do. We have found that not all chemical light sticks are the same as some are brighter than others. Some of the units sold around our 4th of July barely glow at all.
