I paddle with a shorty Greenland paddle - 80" despite the fact that I have a 6'1" arm span. I'm in a narrow boat so this gives me plenty of opportunity to keep my paddle active. A sliding stroke for a brace or sculling became quite natural. Works very well for me for sprintng, distance paddling, surf, wind-waves, and tide-race play.
