in re. flashlights, my wife and I both have one of these on our keyring for light you didn't expect to need. The high output lights up the whole front yard and the street and lasts 1.8 hours. Low lasts about a week of continual use. This is the shortest one using 2 cr2 batteries (included). All are waterproof pretty deep, and produce phenomenal lighting, not cheap but when you _need_ light you need it. P.S. they also flash S.O.S. if you need that. <http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=297&products_id=1599> Fair winds and happy bytes, Dave Flory, Flower Mound, TX, U.S.A. -- Speak softly, study Aikido, & you won't need to carry a big stick! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Talking about light: I have chosen the Wolf-Eyes Pilot Whale diving version. 100 meters operation depths means high resistance to water impact so it will survive all kinds of water on the deck. It has a nice spread of light and yet You can spot anything on the beach. It is a bit bulky and heavy (and pricey) but born with 3 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries it will work for a week on low power output and an hour at maximum output. It also signals SOS, strobe and beacon if needed. https://www.ledtorchshop.com.au/product/204/wolf-eyes-pilot-whale---diving Jens Viggo Moesmand *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
