I might have to buy one and become a big wave surfer!
Really though, it seems like a good idea, let's hope it saves some lives.

Does it make a difference that it keeps you face down? Is that irrelevant in
the bigger picture?

And what's the point if you come up looking like Quasimodo? I'd just die
of embarrassment!

Yeah, and what if you came up looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame?
That'd be awesome too!

I think an inflatable bathing suit would be just as functional, and a
hell of a lot more fun.

I can't see bobbing about in the surf zone of giant breakers as being a good
thing, so I expect that the flotation is on the back so as to not interfere
with aggressive swimming. First surface, then swim to safety.

In the mega-conditions where such a suit makes a difference, I think that
getting to the surface is the primary concern (with the assumption that the
wearer is conscious), and that motorized craft are nearby for pickup..

How long will it be before someone decides this is a perfect get out of
trouble card for kayakers. You're in a tide race, storm, rough water, rock
garden or anywhere your roll fails: Just yank the cord and instant buoyancy
to bring your head to the surface in a low or static brace position.

I want to see someone try this out.

I might have to try backing up my regular PFD with my inflatable and see
how it works!
