Listening to my friend Steve Wilson play music over the years has been very inspiring and I always feel lucky that friends don't seem to mind if I play a song around the campfire. So I've long tried to find some spark of imagination to come up with a song of my own. It seems like it should be easy, with being out on the water always such an inspiring event! But it was my rock garden paddles of late that seemed to do the trick. I always thought the term "Rock Gardener" should be saved for the likes of the Tsunami Rangers, my friend Jack Brisley and the other intrepid extreme kayakers. So I came up with the term "Mineral Spirits" to use for us folk who like to play around the rocks on a more modest level! But I hope that even people who like to steer clear of rocks and waves can still enjoy the song. http://www.sandmarks.net/MineralSpirits.html Mark Sanders *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Good job Mark! Maybe hang with the Tsunami Rangers for a bit and you won't need mineral spirits to have an awesome bowel movement in your wetsuit if ya know what I mean. :-) DL Listening to my friend Steve Wilson play music over the years has been very inspiring and I always feel lucky that friends don't seem to mind if I play a song around the campfire. Mark: I think you should do some paddling with The Band Perry. This might inspire you to write even more superb music. Looking forward to the results. -- Bradford R.
