RE: [Paddlewise] Does anyone recognise this 1940's folding kayak?

I'm back on deck after the Christmas break. I don't have the boat for
comparison, just photos at the moment. However,  I did get a chance for a
close look and there are no identification letters or numbers on the boat it
may have been modified/repaired over the years. Also there is no fabric
cover or flag. A distinctive feature is the relatively short stern section. 

 

I'm following a lead at the moment with the son of an Australian
manufacturer.  Will let you know what the outcome is and will ask the owners
for the length and beam measurements.

Peter could you measure it and send me its length and width? You will
probably need to use a couple of carpenter's squares or a plumb bob to get
the width dimension real close. If I have that info I might be able to
search my database for one that matches your kayak's dimensions pretty
close. 
Any sign of a company name or logo? What is on the bow flag?
