Today broke my streak of paddling every day this year, but I'll try not
to let it discourage me! About eight of us paddled yesterday in sunny
skies in strange contrast to the pea soup fog that was blanketing the
inlands. I abandoned the group at Toxic Creek Beach to surf in the
nicely formed gentle waves. Gentle though they may be, I enjoyed a mild
window shading in the shallows. I landed for a while to wait for the
others to return.
My main interest was to give my new camera a try, so I wasn't very
adventurous. The new camera is bulky, so it will take some getting used
to. Water temp was 58, our only real concession to winter. Just nice to
be on the water.

58 degrees? Summer temps....

One of my buddies posted a link to one of the houses on the stretch we
usually paddle:

nice digs:

The house is visible during the winter, when the trees are leafless.

For me Monday was an avoid getting wet day, sure I have gear to be wet
but I prefer on the boat not next to it.
We had snow flurries on the ride back from the take out... the water is
about 42 (fahrenheit) and falling.

That's what I'd call a carbon footprint.
