More: 

Talked to a very old friend - we get in contact every ten years, or so.

I like to use LED lighting when I shoot macro, so, after looking through my 
hoard of odd bits (scrounging?), a lot of creative thinking, and some soldering, 
two arrays can now use one battery pack - a set of six AA batteries - great! 
And it doesn't matter which array carries the batteries inside, another bonus.

So I seem to be on the mend, but tire easily!
