I have been recently playing with a different and colorful way at looking at tide tables. (And some current tables), I have always been interested in the graphical presentation of data rather than raw text tables. The tides are calculated for ever hour and then color coded and presented for a years time. This creates an interesting repeating pattern as the tidal cycles work their way through the year. It is also an easy way to search the year for interesting tides: extremes or weeks that are NOT extremes (for simpler kayak trips) and to search for interesting currents such as those in Deception Pass These are available on my Web site and I post this for the interest of anybody. Most of the tide tables are from the region of the Pacific Northwest. (British Columbia, Washington, Oregon). If you want a tide table graph for some favorite place of yours in this format, write me. http://bearboat.net/Kayak/KayakTide.html *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
