I should point out that I’m having to replace my dry suit gasket so soon because I’m basically an idiot! After much on-line searching I decided to ‘protect’ my latex by applying silicon, as recommended in many articles. Some suggested not using silicon, some advocated baby powder, and some said just keep clean, which I had previously done. Anyway, I carefully coated the latex, and stored the suit over summer in a warm, dry environment out of direct UV. When I took it out to use the seals had turned to sticky goo! On reading the ingredients on the can of silicon I saw that the propellant was hydrocarbon, NOT a favourite playmate of latex! My Bad, or as we say “Bugger”.
