The conditions for the race have been unexpectedly tough Lots of wind and the contestants are dropping out like flies. One even had to call the Coast Guard for help. Hi Tony, yes we are still in Alaska and loving it. We decided to stay til our son finished college. Unfortunately he ran into some health problems and to make a long story short is still in college. I am close enough to retirement now that we plan to stay a few more years. Hope you enjoy your walking and maybe can find a model kayak that is comfortable for you. I plan a couple short trips in July mainly to check out the sea otter migration into our area.
