I would be curious to know if anyone has ever taken a "Wok" along on a
lengthly
paddle excursion? I am pondering the cooking convience of a wok
(steaming etc)
all though I realize it's size, it seems to me that I might just be the
cats meow.

Any thoughts on this??

Regards,

Philip

Oops, sorry I meant to say that "it" might be the cat's meow, not "I" might be.

Please, no cannibal jokes.

backpacking mostly... remember one time all the oil froze into paste, only
the wine and soy sauce [read-salt water] didn't freeze. i have taken it
canoeing, and it is wonderful; nothing like sweet & sour in the back
country. i might get it through the main hatch and in front of my feet,
between feet and front bulkhead in the sea kayak... man won't folks be
jealous!!

Never cooked any kitties in mine, but everything else, yes. I got my 10
inch diameter one for 10 bucks at some cheap place. It's got a no-stick
coating on it and I drilled out the handle rivets and replaced them with
brass wing nutted-bolts. That way, it packs easily as the "bottom" of
something large and soft. Mine is steel, so I can't store it on deck.

Works great for everything from deep-frying to stir fry to wArming
tortillas.

Yes, Mollie and I always carry along the wok. You never know when you
might run across a cat. Makes good protection from gull bombings, too.

Cheers!

I believe Dave Kruger, down in Astoria, is given to such culinary excess.
Besides, with your wok on deck, who needs a spare paddle <g>?

The thought of cooking kung pao chicken in a wok over
a wood fire absolutely makes me salivate. We did this
one time while camping. If you like the kung pao, try
it over a campfire. (where's my lunch) I would imagine
even a vegetarian kung pao would be tasty.

If you have the room for a wok, I say take it. The
wok can act as a kettle or a fry pan.

Brian.
