Any chance we might get a group to gather on Long Island in Willapa Bay
over the week-end? This would be an ad-hoc, pot-luck, Paddle-In . . . We'll
just designate the Sandspit Campground on the west shore just south of
Jensen Point. No need to make elaborate arrangements. Just show up. Friday,
Saturday, Sunday. . .

Does that sound viable? Who might be up for this?

Dave Kruger. . . would camping on Tenasillahe be less environmental
impact, accommodate a larger group? It's Monday. We have time to make
provisional plans.

I'm tied up with other plans this weekend.

I'd suggest Smokey Hollow if the group travels to Long Island. There
are not enough campsites at Sandspit to handle more than 6 or 8 people.
Smokey Hollow can handle up to 40, depending on how cozy people want to
be, and is a lesser walk to the Grove of Ancient Cedars, a "must see"
attraction. This is bug season on Long Island, so take the DEET.

Tenasillahee tends to be a powerboater party place on the 4th, although
this is highly variable. There is a lot of room on Tenasillahee.

In any case, I will not be involved. But, everybody else ... go to it!

Long Island "Sandspit" campground won't mangage the large groups. Long
Island is NOT conducive to large "Pow Wows." Tenasillahe Island tends to
become a Jet Ski and powerboat beach on the July 4th. Week-End.

So. . . looks like an "official scrub" on the recommendation of several
who have a better grasp on the usage patterns in these two areas.

I may just hike into the woods and look at birds. . .
